How do I publish a book when Im only 14?

I am 14 and I would like to publish a book….well I write poems and stuff so yeah how do I do that… haha. Uhmm if you want to you can go to synthasite and look up monipoems…. haha yeahh I would give you the link but it wont let me. Thanks

Poets usually start by submitting their poems a few at a time to literary magazines. After you’ve established a reputation by publishing a bunch of poems — several dozen at least — in various print and online journals, only then should you start looking for a book publisher.

So where do you find the zines that can help you build up a publishing track record? The book "Poet’s Market" (your local library might have a copy) is one excellent resource. For information about online poetry zines, take a look at this site:

Be sure to read any journal before submitting your work. For one thing, you can learn a lot from reading the published work of other poets. Also, different journals have different styles, and you don’t want to waste your time by submitting sonnets to a zine that publishes only free verse, or submitting serious love poems to someplace that specializes in humorous poetry.

  1. Well, the first thing to do would be to send your completed story off in a nice envelope to a publishing company. HarperCollins has published a book by a twelve-year-old. If they like the book, they will get you an editor and an agent and will help you get published. Naturally, you’ll have to change some things to make your publisher and editor happy, though it probably won’t be anything drastic. You may have to sign a contract with the company that allows them rights to any of your future works. Good choices for publishing companies are HarperCollins and Little, Brown, Inc. Best of luck!

  2. first, write the book. then change stuff in it, get people you trust etc to read it and edit it and suggest changes, even if they are big. then get the book writers market…..find yourself an agent, or send it to the approriate publishing companies which you will find in writers market….if no one likes it hire an editor for help….send it to a bunch of publishers again….if no one likes it….you dont get published…….i am sorry to say that very very few teenagers get published, rarely do they have the writing quality, though it may be good for their age it is not par to world fiction

  4. If you’re only 14, I’m sorry but a traditional publisher won’t publish your book. Therefore you have to self publish your book. This is very easy with website http://www.unibook.com for example.

You have to upload your book on the website. Once your book is uploaded, people can order your book in the online bookshop. Your book will be professionally printed and looks like a real book. Though your book won’t be for sale in the regular book shop, and so you don’t have to expect many readers.
