  1. Thanks so much. After watching your tutorial, I uninstalled the software I found for free and downloaded this one instead. The other software was way too difficult to understand. Thanks for taking the guess work out of Celtx.

  2. @dawsonhills I’m happy this was helpful. Celtx is great. I used to live in Washington State so I have been to BC many times but not recently. Maybe one of these days.

  3. Thanks for your introductory Doug! I found this scriptwriting software last night and was very excitedfor one that it was free and the options it gives for adding storyboards and directors notes. I have enjoyed using the basic Word program for my writing but this is terrific for alligning everything properly. THis should save me time alone in finishing my Feature. You coming to Vancouver, Canada anytime?

  4. i didn’t know about this program, thanks doug now i can write scripts about bums and tigers i like this video it was very informative, and easy to follow

  5. @bmorebaby76 Excellent. I’m glad this was helpful.

  6. @DrGrimmond Right now there are not hot keys for this but it is a great idea. You should email the creators of Celtx through their website and suggest it. They are really open to new ideas. One of my students suggested they add a storyboarding feature and they did it.

  7. Thanks that was so helpful .i just downloaded celtx and i was lost .now i understand much better

  8. Is there a hotkey to take you back to the dropdown? Or any hotkeys to switch between action/scene/character/etc?

  9. Excellent. Let me know know if you have any questions.

  10. Thanks alot man this was extremely helpful.
Everything I needed to know to get me started =D

  11. You’re welcome… I hope it was helpful.

  12. Excellent ..”Thank you very much!!

  13. I need to ask you some questions about some videos i am about to be filming. But i don’t want to give away my thoughts here in the open. Could you send me a measage thru the youtube in stead of reply comment? I need your help, more like imput on the videos i want to do! Please and thank you!

  14. Awesome… it’s great that you’re ready to move forward. There’s nothing more fun that writing a script you get to use. What kind of camera are you using?

  15. as soon as i get and basic out line done an get everyone at the same time and day then we are off filming!

  16. The key is to do something you enjoy. Don’t worry as much about what other people want. If you make something you love, then other people will see that and it will find people who like it too. When do you start shooting?

  17. yes it is and i hope that i can make an impact with this. if so i hope to make and do more.

  18. Sounds like improv so you can use action to set up scene and dialog to outline topics you want actors to cover… does that help? Sounds like a fun project.

  19. mostly it will be unscripted but i will have a script any way to out line what i am going to be video taping. But my actor or crew will know what i want and to do in the videos.

  20. Do you know the actors you’ll have? That will make a difference. Interview them to see how much they can improvise. On action, describe each major action (what do we see the actors do) but you don’t need to say how the camera moves or what angle to shoot from.

  21. The live videos are more like the TV show The Colony! Live and unedited for the most part!

  22. Reality show? Like survivor? How much you write for dialog and action depends on your actors and director. Some actors will need everything written out for them. Others are good at improv and will improvise their lines. Detailed action is helpful to some directors. Others get annoyed with too much help from the writer. Do you know who is acting in your work and who is directing?

  23. Right now reality videos and shows. But could use some help in the writing dialog part! Do i have to write in every pease of dialog if there is only one main person talking or in the video? An also the action do i have to put in every different action where i want to film the shot?

  24. I’m happy it was helpful. Yes, please send over some scripts when you’re done. We have quite a few videos on music in film (a new series coming soon). What are you most interested in?

  25. Thanks for the help and the tip. I can get a lot of work done thanks to you! If you ever need something in return please ask. I will send you a wave of some of my work when im done. Thanks again man! If you have any other tips like this for writing or film let send them my way please! You are a big help thank you, God bless!
